A longtime dream of Mercy Education Institute (MEI) came true today the 25th day of April 2024 by signing an MoU with Distance Learning Center located at SLIDA and functioning under the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government. It was a remarkable achievement for MEI to tie up with such a state owned leading national body for providing higher education. As the world continues to evolve and adapt to strategies to overcome new challenges, it is high time to come out of the traditional way of thinking and explore new platforms for learning using modern technologies. Time is a very important factor in deciding anything in the modern world as things are changing very rapidly. Distance Learning Centre, through its regional centre in Mercy Education Institute, intends to offer a wide range of Diploma, Advance/ Higher Diploma courses leading to UGC recognized UK degrees within a comparatively shorter period and affordable rate. Mercy Education Institute aims at the expansion of its educational and training services and opening new venues for the career development of students in and around Puttalam.
