During this Ramadan period students of Mercy Education Institute while engaging in spiritual activities engaged in varieties of activities in the core subjects of English Language, Tamil Language, Mathematics, Science and History. The activities consisted improving speaking skills, development of vocabulary through word building games by using scrabble and improving listening skills in English Language while improving grammatical knowledge, teat book based comprehension y skills and improving arguing skills through debates in Tamil Language. Measuring distance using a wheel, measuring buildings and drawing the sketch of them selecting a suitable scale to accommodate the sketch in an A5 sheet, answering text book based questions through spot tests, improving logical thinking through solving mathematical puzzles and drawing bar charts by observing the number of different vehicles passing through the nearby trunk road were some of the activities in Mathematics. In science, there were cross word puzzles, practical to identify different chemicals and substances and chain questions to improve the comprehension skills. Activities in history included map marking, spot test and question and answer session. The students were very happy and showed keenness in engaging in these activities.
